HRH Princess Srirasmi Visits “Family Love Web” Project in Phang-nga

On 1 February 2010, HRH Princess Srirasmi, wife to HRH Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, went for a visit and for checking progress and operation of members of “Family Love Web” Project under initiation of HRH Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn at Tha Pae Yoi Village, Tambol Ko Pra Thong, Kuraburi District, Phang-nga Province. For this occasion, Mr. Siripong Hangsapruek, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) together with high administrations and leaders of governmental units under MNRE has welcomed and joined the visit.

           

           

           

     HRH Princess Srirasmi, wife to HRH Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, granted honorable badges of “Family Love Web” Project to representatives of governmental units, general people, and organizations that support operation under the Project, totaling 38 persons. For this event, Mr. Samarn Satae (General Director of Phang-nga Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office), Mr. Charkree Rodpai (Director of Mangrove Forest Resources Conservation Division), Mr. Sophon Pengprasert (Superintendent of Mu Ko Surin National Park), Mr. Sanya Singhwanglao (Superintendent of Mu Ko Ra – Ko Pra Thong National Park), and Mr. Pornthep Paimuang (Special Mechanic of Regional Groundwater Resources Office 6 (Trang)) were among those who received the badges.

     Later, HRH Princess Srirasmi visited houses of members of “Family Love Web” Project and the Environmental Conservation Group of Tha Pae Yoi Village, Moo 2. The princess also observed environmental protection activities of MNRE. Some activities were about conservation and rehabilitation of marine and coastal resources such as planting mangrove trees (Rhizophora mucronata and Rhizophora apiculata), encouraging villagers not to consume eggs of sea turtles, and protecting sea turtles that come to lay their eggs after the 2004 tsunami. Other activities include improving and developing drinking water sources for the community, monitoring quality of the environment, and managing garbage by the community. For this event, Princess Srirasmi gave some seedlings as to support plantation of mangrove forests and the “Garbage Sorting Project” board to representatives of Tha Pae Yoi Village. During this time, Mr. Siripong Hangsapruek, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MNRE and high administrations, chiefs of governmental units and officers under MNRE had given reports and accompanied the visit.
